The EHA Clinical Excellence Award is awarded for an extraordinary achievement or commitment to the clinical or clinical research field​.

The nominated person must have:

  • Made a valuable contribution to the field of hematology
  • Shown dedication to their work and commitment to furthering the field of hematology​
  • Been responsible for pioneering and innovative work in the clinical or clinical research field

This award was formerly known as the David Grimwade Award.

2025 winner

Khaled Musallam

Dr Khaled Musallam has been granted the Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership. This has led to both improvements in patient outcomes and the evolution of clinical practice through innovation and commitment. Progress that continues to benefit both practitioners and the lives we care for.

We thank him deeply for these contributions, which have not only advanced the field but have also made a tangible difference in the lives of countless patients.
